I really like this image. Shows warmth and a sort of familiar cosiness. Nice.

Hi Matthew James Norman,
This is very nice to look at. I think you have captured a feeling. Your light and color tone are strong elements in this image. You said something about sepia tone...My feeling is "what you have really works." I see a painting-like quality here that I like. Thanks for sharing your actual lighting setup and settings; that is very cool. Also like the black background. You really captured the wood on the trunk. This doesn't follow rule of thirds but this, by my eye, it seems to be a place for not doing so. Someone else may see it differently. I'd certainly be open to that.

You took some boring items and did something really cool with them. Well done. I'm going to have to try doing some of my own light painting now

A Team,
There are (in the lower half) three straight sections of wood, broken slightly by a hasp. Draping either part of the jacket or fingers of a glove would break those even more and keep the composition from being half and half. Even a hint of light behind the hat would help shape it.

Nice work! I think you can go far with this simple lighting setup. I can hear the sound of waxed paper being ripped from the boxes all over as I type this. Seriously, I hope others will take up the challenge to experiment with other light sources as you have here. Well done!
