First off welcome to the forums! At the top of each sub forum there are guidelines for each sub forum.
In this section we limit picture size to 600pix at its widest to help with pages uploading.
Feel free to link the original size or even better if you sign up for flickr it will let you pick the size you want to link. Flickr works real well here. Plus it will show us the EXIF data to better critique your photos.

This photo has amazing areas of interest but I find its being broken up by some other areas not as focused. nice abstract.

Here's my thoughts on this :
1. Very abstract and definitely a very good subject. But maybe you can try somthing diff. by zooming out or zooming in completely.
2. There are some distracting elements in the foreground. When taking such low DOF pictures, make sure that your subject is the EYE-CATCHING element.
3. Did you use a flash, increase the ISO a bit and try for natural colours.
Flash makes the picture lose its depth, or maybe try out the sync mode in your flash. It really helps to include the sorroundings also in such situations.

Cheers
