Post First Shots - Waterfall

Hi,
I am new to photography as such, got a Canon Powershot S5IS recently.
I have taken the two attached pics, one in auto and one in manual mode. The ones in manual mode seems to have a bluish tinge and seems to lack brightness. I have taken both the pictures without flash, any comments on how to improve would be helpful.

I don't know why my earlier post got deleted somehow.

Thanks.

Not deleted - moved to Landscapes. This section is for critique of one shot. I will move adacosta's reply across so the discussion can continue there.
