Default Lake Tahoe

Hi,

I discovered this site whilst bored at work and spent ages looking around and it seems rather good!

Anyway, above is the compsition I took in Lake Tahoe. It's 11 photos taken in portrait, then stitched together. I've carried out some editing as it was a little grey, and I've removed some of the things like bouys and a fence or two. The real problem was that the sun was over exposed in the shot... this became more apparent when I adjusted the picture to remove the grey.

I would have linked into the flickr one, but it's having a massage!(?)

Anyway, one final piece of info. The camera was a Kodak 6300. Any comments welcome.

Cheers,

M

Thumbs up

Hello and welcome. Very nice panoramic stitch and composition. Apart form the blown out areas from the sun on the left I think this is a pretty nice shot. Still haven't tried my own stitching but imagine I won't find such a lovely setting in the middle of Kent!

Stick around here and you will learn a lot (not necessarily from me). There are lots of very lovely, helpful people here!

EDIT: Post you Flickr link anyway for when it stops slobbing out...

m4rcus, Welcome

Subject is really effective, because I usually have little feeling for panoramas. This is well imagined and executed. The dock tells a story, just not certain which one: two people and a pet walk out and back in same path? One person walks out carrying pet, returns with pet on his own paws. Or vice versa. Good photo, made me curious.

I'm not sure about the pet situation... the dog jumping in the lake was one idea, but as it was extremely cold that day I doubt it, but your idea that it was carried is a new one, but could be the truth.

I did think of photoshopping out the footprints, but it has caused conversation, so I'm not going to touch them now. I've got it printed out at 900mm in width in a custom frame I made, but always thought about maybe selling it. It needs work before I can do that, but would be great if somehow I could.

I'm going back to Lake Tahoe this year, so I hope with my G7 I'll be able to get another great shot

M

m4rcus,

Better would raise the value; a photo people talk about is good.
