Smile cooperating pigeon portrait

pigeon
At my surprise, as I was standing on the balcony, it landed right in front of me, and it came closer...went inside to fetch the camera, and found it there waiting for me after hurrying back. It posed for about 2 minutes, and when I tried a closer angle it flew away...one of my most cooperating living subjects so far
Done some cropping, gradient mapping, and levels adjustment in ps.
C&C are welcome!

Ouch, his tail got cut off! Wonderful you lucky clicker! One thing that kinda bugs me is the beautiful feathers are a little overwhelmed by the contrasting texture of the backdrop. Some processing could make the subject grab a more attention.

I agree with FP, the feathers and head appear to be real sharp but it loses a bit with the background. Maybe even increasing the blur a bit would work.....
only other thing is the tail feathers.....
very nice shot though otherwise and very lucky. I find if I want to shoot pigeons or gulls its great to go places that are touristy and have lots of food court type of places outside. They love leftovers and anything dropped. Also they tend to be more adventurous and care free about humans trampling them.
