Default Tracks in snow

Hello there!

This photo was taken a couple of days ago.
It's my parents and my dog in the horizon.

EXIF info:
Exposure: 1/30
Aperture: f/8
ISO Speed: 100
Flash: Not fired
Light: Cloudy sky

Depth/lines are excellent.

I don't know if you are into post-processing, but I wonder how this photo would look a) sharpened, and b) with a bit more contrast (I would like to see the people and trees on the horizon a bit blacker, and maybe the sky a bit lighter -- though you might have to mask the snow).

I'm into post-processing, and tried making some adjustments in levels, and up the contrast some.

Does the additional contrast improve, do you think?

Myself I like my BWs very contrasty -- so I would push even harder, and if you do a sharpen you will get more contrast jumping out. That's just me.

How do you do your BW conversions?

I do like the effect of the additional contrast, I think it brings more focus to the subject(s).
The other image was sharpened, but it probably was a little to light. I realised that the second image posted was the wrong crop, so here comes the right crop. This time i started out of scratch, just focused on getting more contrast without loosing to much detail.

ah, yeah i like the last photo better. it's a bit more dramatic and the tracks are clearer.
