Default Colors of Nature

Took this shot at a flower exhibition at Bangalore, India. I loved the contrasting colors, specially of the petals and the stamen/stigma/anther ...(forgive my ignorance of flower parts!)

I love the background, how it is almost desaturated - not fully but a little bit. It gives a good contrast to the amount of saturation on the real flower.

However, I think the flower is a little too saturated...a little bit too much contrast. not a lot, just a tiny bit.

I also love the composition. This is one of those photos that just works when it's dead center. Good work!

Vishi,

You have a glorious color in your photo. Upon studying your photo, I had the same response to it as Sukanta: the strength of this photo for me would be to have the entire flower (or most) in crisp focus to establish the distinct line of the focused flower against its out-of-focus background. Unless my eyes deteriorated another notch just this evening, I don't see the focus on its mark. The angle of the shot could have contributed to that. What was the arperture setting?

I enjoy your submittals and look forward to more.

Best,
