Default how long can you make a two year old sit still?

I read a thread on how to take silhouette today and thought I would give it a shot. I was practicing with stuffed animals but that got old quick so I gave my son a candy to open so I could snap a few frames. I Managed two before he bolted. I shot it right against a window where outside was a plethora of beautiful WHITE snow!
Is the picture boring without other points of intrest? What do you think I could improve upon? Thanks for having a look!

That's actually pretty interesting. I really like it.

Might have to try some of this myself.

With enough duct tape they'll stay put as long as you want them to!
Just kidding but this is a nice effect! I think it looks like it could be used for product advertisement with the writing or product to the right.
Really neat shot! I think the hand are is distracting me a little with the two middle fingers curled and the back of the head could be smoothed out with a simple brush.
I think I would crop out all the area behind the child so a little off the top and the left and then do it in portrait just to see how it would look without so much empty white space.

Hi mackenziedawn:
I like the composition on this photo. Is the original file or it's cropped one?
I wonder how it would look with more white space around the child. Thanks for sharing it!

Wow, nice job! Those little hints of light on the hand and on the shirt make me wonder. Do I like them, do I want a leeettle bit more, or do I want them gone. I'm leaning towards masking the shirt stuff and leaving the one on the hand. Curiosity would like a leeetle more though this seems to defeat the purpose of a silhouette. It does look well suited for an ad and I dare not say which one.

I played with it a little here's a version without light on the hand or shirt. Ad? Which ad? now you have to tell me!

Now I feel like a Media Muncher. Apple's IPod adverts were entirely silhouette based.

I like that gradient blue background, as well as the crop in the next one (especially getting rid of the background behind the head). Combine them and stick a gradient behind the crop.

I think it would be good with a little more light revealing the subject's form. Yes, less of a true silhouette but I think it would make a more interesting photo. Next time you could put something white or shiny to the right of your "trap", angled back to reflect a little light across.
