I like trees. Trees make beautiful subjects and provide oxygenical goodness. But some folks that put them in the ground seem to not like photographers.

I'd hate to think of cloning out the tree but it's of no help to the shot. Me-thinks this is a tad dark. I like my texture-adorned architecture with a little more contrast. Generally I quite like the composition and the placement of the lamp-post works very well.

rlarsen,

This is the bank of the golden doors? Are you as far away from the front as you could be, or is there not-so-nice stuff on either side of this building? Traffic in the street? Just leaning toward seeing a more complete shot, whole building, tree and all. It's so "NewYorkish."

it looks good, although it does give you the feeling that it's been abruptly cropped off on the sides. it would be better if you can give it a bit of space to breathe.

Jiminy, your right it would be nicer if I had the whole door. Yes there was more room to move back. This was on a Sunday morning and not a lot of traffic in town. I will have to try this again.
Thanks.
