Default Who is this man?

Hi all:
As some photographers say it's important to lose the shyness, go outside and take pictures of strangers. So that's what I did in my last trip. I saw this man working and asked him if I could take him a picture. He agreed and the first thing he did was smile to the camera. I took the picture and then I asked him for a natural expression as if I was not there. Here is the shot I made. What do you think of it?

Man in Horse

I will try to take more photos of strangers to improve them and get less shy asking for a photo!
Hope you like it!

A+ for asking his permission and also thinking about getting a more natural pose. Looks nice and sharp on my monitor. Well done (except for the nose-job on his horse.) 8-)

That's one proud, dignified looking hard worker right there! I hope he gets a print.

Thanks Clockdoc for you comments. When I shoot the photo I did not notice the nose-job I gave for free to the horse as you pointed lol. I need to be more careful with the frame in my camera.

I'm glad you like it to FrankenPengie. If I can I'll give him a print =)

Hi Oriolhdz,

I find it interesting, particularly in black and white and your angle. I think the photo would have been stronger with, at minimum, clear eyes of the horse. The crop on the [left] [not right] feels a bit confining. Have you tried a softer texture to the photo just for fun to see if you liked it? Lastly, I admire that you plan to boldly capture more strangers.

Best,

I'm glad you liked the photo siopaopei. It was a little bit difficult to overcome the shyness lol. But we all need to start some day.

Hi geotography:
Thanks for your comments. The photo has no crop. I used my 18-55 lens and I was at 18 mm. I had a wall behind me and could no walk further. I know I should ask the man to move a little bit back but I did not want to bother him more than I did asking the picture. About the texture you said, can you post an example to see what you mean? Thanks again!
