Busy, busy weekend for me, so I'll just post the results.
A tie for first : Annwen's colorful straws "Annwen's vivid palette of colours against a black background is eye-catching. I love the details you can see on each straw and they way their translucence allows them to interact. There is clear pattern and repetition but also enough of the stochastic to make it seem almost organic." And ihateliver's cheese grater: ![]() "Not anew idea but none the less, well thought out, well presented, uniform pattern and really cool!" Second goes to Desdanova's cemetary "a somber reminder of the uniformity of the armed forces" Continued next post... |

And another tie (!) for third.
tjmurph9's Pixel perfect: Pixel perfect is a joke that photographers ought to get and playing with extension tubes can be appreciated for the technical challenge. Above all though, tjmurph9 has made a good choice of what section of the screen to focus on; a strong colour but not a flat expanse of it. And susan3032's Electrical Tower. ![]() Susan3032 has captured an image that looks almost artificial except for the detail of the lighting. It proves that looking up is a bright idea and is an effective use of a high contrast treatment to bring out the pattern. |
