To round off our run of colour-themed weeks, we gave the challenge of Monochrome Colour. Maybe we should have called it Colour Monochrome, as a few entrants posted black and white images which might have been contenders if only the results had some colour. There were also some photos which included two or more colours; perhaps we should have a duotone theme at some point in the future.
Plenty of images did manage to clearly demonstrate both colour and monochrome and, after sorting through them, we ended up with a three way tie - congratuations are in order to SiewFeun, Marakino and ihateliver: ![]() http://digital-photography-school.co...96-post39.html Simple with a nice use of pattern. ![]() http://digital-photography-school.co...6-post158.html The warmth of this photo is enticing. It also exploits narrow depth of field. With a wide aperture shot, this often seems a bit hit and miss but this shot has it spot on. ![]() http://digital-photography-school.co...5-post220.html The tendency of skies to get blown out is normally a problem but ihateliver has used it to keep blues out of the brown - orange palette. There was a little bit of processing but this is perfectly acceptable, making even more of the natural colours. Congratulations to all three of you and well done to the other entrants. Wulf |

Thank You !
Pleasantly surprised and mightily honoured. This was one of those fascinating assignments that to begin with left me stumped, but some super entries provided the inspiration and motivation to get out and find something - thanks to everbody that enters. Michael Flickr: ihateliver's Photostream |
