It is after 8am GMT so the contest is

CLOSED

Do keep your street pictures coming and, if you entered one for the contest, double check that you included "Assignment: Streets", some EXIF information and the date taken so that it is eligible.

Default A couple more......

I had some problems uploading the picture I entered into the contest and noticed that several others also had similar problems. I have no idea what caused them but it took me over an hour to get my photograph up without it being distorted. Sometimes the bottom half of the picture would be split and the sides swapped. The color would be distorted in any number of ways, and at other times the picture would look fine......until you looked closely. Then, you would notice that a portion of the picture appeared to be duplicated within the photo! Those were the primary problems I faced. I was using Flickr, for the first time, to resize the photograph but decided to put a border around it also. I was directed to Picnik (which I am very familiar with and have been using for nearly a year). I thought, at first, the problem could be coming from using these sites and tried to upload the original with no edits.....same problems, though. Does anybody have any idea what is happening and how to make it stop?

I'm sorry if this sounds like a rant. It is not intended that way. I figured this would be the best place to put it since others are having the same problem. But, please move it if another location would serve it better.

Also, I wanted to try and repost my submission a little larger so it could be seen better - along with two other pics, one that I really wanted to use as my submission.

......Well, it looks like the pictures are going to serve as better examples of some of what was happening. They were nice pics, too. Oh, well. And just for the record - the only edits done are to resize, add the border, and my name/date stamp. All in picnik and not through Flickr at all.

If anyone can help, I would appreciate it. And I'm sure others here will, too.

If you are using a site like Flickr, you don't need to upload it here at all. See the FAQ for information on how to easily display images from a number of popular photo-hosting sites.

Thanks Wulf. Let's see what happens:

Reflections 2

Oh, yay!!! Thank you so much, Wulf!!!!

Here also are the other two pictures. One of them was almost the one entered into the contest:

Cross Walk Button

Crossing the Walk

I've not done any editing to enhance the images that are posted here, but the "eye bright" and "mascara" features make them look very nice!!

Well, that answers a question I always had about how to determine what picture the comment was on! Thanks!

The weather has been really terrible here in Central IL. Here's a shot I managed to get yesterday once the wind had died down and quit whipping snow across the fields.
