Default Assignment: New Beginnings

This picture was taken January 2, 2010. We just got about 8" of fresh snow and I was out on a photo safari to look for a subject for the New Beginnings assignment. Even though the woods are deep in the grip of old man winter, the buds promise a new beginning.

Tree Buds

This is my first attempt at macro photography. I didn't think to record the settings, but I am using a Olympus C730UZ.
