"Venice Sunrise"
Not our best technical shot, but certainly our favorite since it represents the beginning of a busy travel year. It's my personal favorite becuase it teaches a lesson continuously learned: Composition and Subject count far more than the camera. I've had a DSLR since July, but this was taken with a Point & Shoot in February. ![]() Date Taken: 15 Feb 09 Camera: Sony DSC-W150 Lens: N/A Focal Length: N/A Shutter Speed: 1/200 Aperture: F3.3 ISO: 100 View the full size photo at: Photo 1 of 33, Assignments

My best shot of 2009 because I have never seen a shot with a sun flare so detailed and the length is incredible. Shot contains great color and reflections.

I don't know if this is my best, but it is certainly one of my favorites. I worked hard on improving my photography skills this year and chose this photo because
1) I achieved the effect I was striving for through appropriate exposure settings; 2) My photo hike that day brought me a tremendous amount of satisfaction not only in the photo results but also the appreciation for the beauty around me; definitely one of my top 5 days of the year; and 3) It is one of the few photos I actually chose to print which is an indication of an emotional attachment to it. ![]() EXIF Date taken: 8 August 2009 Camera: Canon Rebel Xsi Lens: 24-105 mm Focal length: 90 mm Aperture: f/22 Shutter: 1/4 s ISO: 100 Ev: 0 PP: probably a bit of tweaking in PSE7, but I can't remember exactly what Looking forward to seeing more great work from everyone in 2010! I think this is my best shot of 2009. I like how the photograph can be interpreted in many ways depending on one's point of view and imagination. The use of natural light is another reason as to why I think it is my best.

Maybe this is a dumb question, but in the rules about this assignment- it says the shot had to be taken in 2009, then it says it had to be taken between Dec 16 and Dec 30 2009. If it's my best shot of 2009 it makes sense that it would be any shot from 2009, but I want to follow the rules. Which is it? Or am I just missing something?
