Default Assignment: My Best Shot of 2009

I do believe I'm a bit late for the assignment. But this would have to be my best shot to date. I still don't know how it happened. I'm still trying to learn about this camera, and dont understand all the complicated stuff yet ie. f/stops, shutter speeds etc. I was unsure which setting to use and tried a few. But I was so rapt in this shot. Call it a fluke lol.

Camera Model Canon EOS 1000D
Shooting Date/Time 2/05/2009 7:42:44 PM
Shooting Mode Aperture-Priority AE
Tv( Shutter Speed ) 1.3
Av( Aperture Value ) 4.5
Metering Mode Evaluative Metering
ISO Speed 800
Lens EF75-300mm f/4-5.6

This is a shot of Melbourne city taken from Middle Brighton pier.

P.S. I don't know how to do what is called post production or whatever it is (lol I'm learning to try and take a decent shot let alone anything else), so it's just as it has come out of the camera.

P.S.S It looks way better in its bigger size.

I love how it's on the coast with a lighthouse which is also another of my favorite things.
This is the Pigeon Point Lighthouse in Pescadero, California. Excited by the tractor? Well, different strokes for different folks.

Some might pick another, but this was my first shot that got picked up by another website and published as their photo of the day.

I`m too late I think but I love this photos so much I would like to share it with you.
I went out on solistic day where it was snowing and this group of youg stallions live on a big pasture in Hungary with a shelter, enjoied and played. I like this photo because it`s a kind of arty, mystical, shows this stallions life, their friendships, the group dynamic, it's blurry and othewise sharp - more like a painting than a photo.
I wish you all a happy New Year.

Default My best shot of 2009

Samson-1

My dog Samson. Rescued and rehomed, he has been with us in his forever home for two years. This year, we took him to Lake Huron for the first time. He had never seen the beach or the water or the waves; I have never seen a dog so happy. It doesn't fit rules but I don't know if I have ever captured a picture with so much joy.

He loved the beach and water so much that we bought him a cottage so he can do this every weekend.
