Default Assignment: My Best Shot of 2009

I always wanted to do photography, but was never confident enough in myself to spend the money on professional gear and start my business. I took this shot with my point and shoot. I chose this picture because it was the photo that made me step back and say, "Yes, I can do this." A month later I was out buying my gear. This is my beautiful baby girl. The only editing I did was lightened it up a bit.

Default Assignment: My best Shot of 2009

This is my most popular photo this year...it may look like I took it in a forest, but I was in the city actually, in the bus station, when I saw this very interesting sunset
This goes to show the fact that you don't always have to go to far away places to take great shots.

I recently upgraded to my first DSLR and continue to be stunned with the quality of images the T1i can produce. I was experimenting with different compositions and ended up capturing a brief moment of my son's joy at the park.

Date Taken: December 18, 2009

I am quite sure there are a lot of technical flaws in this photo but I chose this photo of my daughter as my "best shot" of 2009 because I just love the lighting and how you can see every strand of hair blowing as she is running away. To me, the lighting makes it seem like a fading memory you're trying so hard to recall.

Taken: October 18, 2009, 4:33PM
Camera: Nikon D60
Lens: Nikkor 18-55mm
Exposure: 1
Aperture: f/5.6

This picture was taken on Saturday morning December 19, 2009. This little ball of joy is Rocco, my new addition. This is my favorite photo because I love the background and Rocco's perfectly exposed facial features. I hope this photo brings a smile to your face...

ISO Speed: 100

I'm saying this one for two reasons.
1) I've been trying to get a successful hair flick shot for months, and finally managed it yesterday.
2) It's by far my most popular photo on Flickr and has made my views go up x20 or so in the last 24 hours!
