Hello everyone. I'm not sure this is my best photo of 2009. However, I did get a lot of positive feedback on this photo.

I shot this while on holiday with my wife in Bodie State historic park (CA) - the best thing was the long shadows and high contrast at the end of the day - we arrived only 1 hour before close! Textures and definition came out really well! There are some amazing shots on DPS, i don't post much but watch quite regularly. My resolution is to post more in 2010! IMG_7743 c on Flickr - Photo Sharing! I picked this photo because this is my first sports photo, my first full manual setting unlike most of my photos taken with either Av/Tv, and the most enjoyable yet, shooting alongside with other photographers and hearing a "machine gun" of clicks once the action begins... (novice in photography....) Camera: Canon 50D Lens: 70-200mm 2.8f IS Exposure: 1/1000 sec Aperture: f/9.0 Focal Length: 185 mm ISO Speed: 200 Date Taken: December 13, 2009 Last edited by vhan0506; 12-29-2009 at 01:35 PM. Assignment: My Best Shot of 2009 - 19 July 2009
I'm kinda stuck with being only able to choose from a few photos. I never managed many photos this year thanks to illness and a broken auto-focus sub mirror assembly thingy on my 300D. Anyway... This has been my favourite from the last year. It's not technically great but it's so different from my other photos that it sticks out in my mind. After discussing with a few other photographers they seem to be split 50/50 on whether it's too dark or not. Thats the look I was going for however ![]() ![]() Exposure: 0.01 sec (1/100) Aperture: f/5.6 Focal Length: 50 mm ISO Speed: 400 Exposure Bias: 0 EV Flash: No Flash PP included bumping up the exposure a little as well as playing with the curves, messing with a little lens correction and finished with a little sharpening
