My mother's "bible" was the "Joy of Cooking." This recipe was a favorite every Christmas when I was a child and now my family thinks that it just wouldn't be Christmas without these.

This old Joy of Cooking is falling apart but I still use it for some favorite recipes. Notice the stains of the pages. Some pages are falling out too. I really should get a newer edition, but I could never part with this one.

Taken at the 28th Infantry Division Holiday Meal. My friend Barb's daughter would not let go of the camera, not even for Santa. She was snapping pictures of people taking pictures of her. This is the 15th year that I have attended the holiday meal as a 28th ID soldier, and have many fond memories.
