Default Kinetics

My husband and I recently went to the Scottsdale Mall to wander and do a bit of shopping. I took my camera and had fun playing around with the zoom while photographing the fountain in the mall. I really liked how this turned out. Zoomed out while the shutter was open for 3 seconds.

Keeping the camera still, and moving the subject ! - strung a flashlight from the celing on a string, camera on the floor, and spun the flashlight...

Guess it's still kinetics, huh?

Default My Christmas Tree

I know it is late but I tried taking one of these shots of my Christmas Tree. Yes my decorations go up Thanksgiving weekend. I loved working with this. I shot this on Canon Rebel XSI, tv (shutter priority), ISO 200, started with 18mm focal length and turned to 55mm during a 1 second shutter speed.
This is a lot of fun.

Thank you. That is the same reason I like it, for the smooth flow of lines.

I propped a torch, focused, pressed the shutter release and moved the camera while the shutter was open. I upped the exposure (only) to compensate for the aperture setting. A long exposure shot with the only light being the torch.
