Hate to ruin a photo with the dated posted over it from the camera.
It would be the date that is generated by the camera, make certain it has the correct date. It won't actually appear on your picture.

There is a place like this in my city, in fact a few of them. I have taken some shots there myself. The houses or i should say partial houses have been sitting as they were for over two years now and there are no plans to finish the tracts that they are in. Very stark indead.

A hotel near Eastern Market in Detroit. Not an entry in the contest; I took this photo last April. To me, it depicts the economic status of the 313.

Default Real Contributor To Economy

Recently I visited a forging unit I found these fellows working in very dangerous conditions. I think they are the real contributors to economy.

Default Economy Assignment

A lady in front of me purchased tomato soup and blackeyed peas.
She told the cashier she would have loved to buy some bread just don't have the money for it. I told her to go back and get herself a couple loafs of bread I pay for it. She was so grateful with tears in her eyes.

You had the IMG tag bit right but your image file has .JPG as an extension while you put .jpg. It is coming from a Unix-based webserver, where capitalisation is important (so x.JPG is a different file to x.jpg).

How do I know all that? I'm a professional web-geek! I would suggest (for everyone) always using lower case file extensions, which avoids the problem.

Wulf

ps. Fixed in your post... but don't forget the other information asked for in the first post of this assignment.
