Star Anchors
![]() I visited San Francisco last week, which was full of great architecture. This was my favorite 'detail' though because they're both decorative and functional. They're structural reinforcements to prevent buildings from bowing out during an earthquake. The big San Francisco earthquake of 1906 resulted in a ton of the buildings in the city having these. I thought they were neat! I tried Helen Bradley's tutorial on split toning for this photo ![]() Camera: Nikon D40 Exposure: 0.008 sec (1/125) Aperture: f/5.6 Focal Length: 42 mm ISO Speed: 200 Taken on October 25, 2009
