shop

Hi again,

This isn't some great photo, but the house! It is in the very center of the town, in a popular promenade and shoping street, packed between two new buildings. Note the shop on the ground floor - it is working! The lights are on inside and the wooden ceiling is decently leveled. I hope the owner doesn't live upstairs behind those curtains...

These pictures are taken in Kemeri, not far from Jurmala. This is abandoned sanitarium, never meant to be finished. This unfinished building is remain of the Soviet Union time. I wanted to take more pictures of it and the rest of the Kemeri, but the rain and later on snow got us. Also, it's a bit scary to tramp around this building alone so i plan to get back with a couple of friends
Pictures are taken on 19th of January, 2007.

On the top of this page in FAQ menu and then in Posting pictures you have a detailed instruction for posting from flickr. Just follow it, it'll work.

Default Here is a few more of my images.

Here is a few more of my images.

The first photo is of an old abandoned warehouse where i found it quite funny that someone had placed a "Welcome" mat at the entrance. I thought it was a perfect picture opportunity.

also, after browsing this thread ... why so many "decay" snaps of graffiti? maybe if the theme was just "urban" but as photographers i'd expect some respect for fellow artists and hope you all would see graffiti keeping the city alive and vibrant!

Many see graffiti as defacing property; a lack of respect for other's property. Hence a lowering (decaying) of the community standard.

Default pic of a barn

Hello,
Found this Digital Photography assignment rather interesting as have noticed this barn quite a few times, but never thought of taking a picture. It is falling apart but can imagine how grand it must have been in its days.
My first posting with attached pic from flickr, so am hoping all goes well.

i know the argument, i was just surprised at the lack of respect for other artists on this thread!

i've got nothing against graffiti shots--photos are a great way to make a record of the writing on the walls. i'd just suggest shooting it as you'd shoot an art slide ... here are some tips:

I think there is a lot of beauty within graffiti shots because they usually turn urban decay into a colorful canvas.

Rules for taking graffiti shots? No disrespect, but i couldn't help but giggle inside. As an artist AND photographer [friends with many graffiti artists around the world], i thought the whole point of being an artist is to be creative and not go by anyone elses set rules?

I'm not here to cause any trouble, just wondering why you feel that way. Your opinion is not wrong, nor is mine. But i highly doubt anyone here is to disrespect anyone by posting such photographs in any shape or form, anyway they want.
