Default Assignment: Seven Deadly Sins

"Pride"

'Pulikkali' or 'Tiger Dance' happens every year during 'Onam' or the harvest festival of Kerala, the southernmost state of India.

The biggest dance of the state happens in the 'Swaraj Round' of the town of Thrissur, when hundreds of men paint themselves and dress up as tigers. They, along with other members of their group, dance to the tune of the 'Thakil', 'Udukku' or 'Chenda' (all traditional musical instruments). This year 11 groups of tiger dancers participated in the event with their floats and tableaux. Thousands witness the event every year.

I happened to be around this year and so decided to go shoot the tiger.

Camera Nikon D40
Lens Standard 18-55mm
Date 05.Sep.09
Focal length 20mm
F-number F/5
Exposure time 1/100 sec
ISO Speed ISO-400

Default I am your god now

I am your god now

(In almost every list Pride (Latin, superbia), or hubris, is considered the original and most serious of the seven deadly sins, and indeed the ultimate source from which the others arise. It is identified as a desire to be more important or attractive than others, failing to acknowledge the good work of others, and excessive love of self (especially holding self out of proper position toward God)).

A composite of two pics, both taken (I think) with a Konica Minolta a300 and bashed together in ps.

Default Assignment: Seven Deadly Sins

The result of sin

Well I guess you could call this wrath, although...

What I want to say with this picture is that no matter what the sin is it will lead to anger towards yourself, sadness and desperation. Now that is what this picture is about : all sins leads to death.

Date: 09/02/2009 (MM/DD/YYYY)
Camera:Nikon D90
Exposure time: 1/100
Aperture: f/1.8
Focal Length: 50mm
sorry for the strong edit but I believe it is what I wanted to express when I shot this photograph.
P.S. ( Blessed is He who has shown us mercy and grace in His Son, Jesus Christ, in who we have forgiveness of our sins. )

Thanks. Ok, I can do that.
