This may scream 'HDR!' a little bit too much to be a real competition entry but it qualifies and I wanted to share it either way. The clouds were actually really intense looking so it looks more HDR'd than it is.

I have three photos for this week's assignment, and I asked my friends which photo should be the best among the three. Over the weekend, I took a flight going to Mindanao, the third island in the Philippines, and I had the opportunity to take an aerial shot of Bukidnon and Cagayan using my Canon digital camera. I did not use my Canon EOS, since any electronic devices are not allowed on the plane. I am not sure if I can join this assignment, since I am using a digital camera.
no flash, ISO=hi, auto. |

If you take a pic in daylight with a fast shutter speed, you will get nice detail on shrubs and greenery but the sky will be very light, almost white. So you take another one from the same position with different settings (longer exposure and smaller aperture) to capture the detail in the skies this time instead of the greens (which will now be blown out), combine them to get a HDR image ![]() I'm new to this too so if I'm wrong please correct me...
