Thanks! I hope you can find one. I've been looking for a year now, unsuccessfully. Sigh.

![]() Unpolarized ![]() Polarized Both photos were taken with the same settings and on a tripod. The only difference was the rotation of my circular polarizing filter 90 degrees. The polarizer really cut down the glare coming off the rocks. I'm not sure which effect I like better for this scene. Hind sight being 20/20, I probably should have taken one more shot with just a 45 degree rotation of the filter to get a "middle of the road" effect. It might have added a little bit more character to the rock face. I guess I'll just have to go back there and try it again. ![]() Taken on 8-15-2009 @ 8:35pm and 8:36pm AST respectively. Camera: Canon EOS Digital Rebel XSi Exposure: 5 sec. Aperture: f/22.0 Focal Length: 24 mm ISO Speed: 100 Exposure Bias: 0 EV Flash: Off, Did not fire

Two Trees
![]() Two for One: Shutter Speed! With sunset illuminating the sky behind the tree, I figured I could either get the tree properly exposed, or the sky properly exposed, but not both!!! Since I'm a sucker for sunsets and silhouettes, I like the 2nd one the most... it's a much more interesting photo than the first imo, even though most detail on the tree is forfeit. First exposure: 3 sec Second exposure: 0.033 sec (1/30) For both: Camera: Nikon D40 Aperture: f/5.6 Focal Length: 55 mm Exposure: 0.00 ISO Speed: 400 Exposure Bias: 0 EV Flash: No Flash Exposure Program: Manual With EXIF intact: first photo second photo

I was experimenting with exposure compensation and these are two of the many shots I took. I like the first since the main subject is better exposed than the second, although the background might be a bit washed out. |

The under side of water.
I wanted to do an ISO study using my waterproof p&s shooting the waves created by water jets. The pictures were taken underwater facing up toward the sun. I like the ISO 100 because of the light/shadow balance and the way the sun is diffracted.
