Default The Hands

Assignment: Hands

I wasn't planning on doing this assignment as I've been pretty busy lately. See, I run a record label here in Seattle and have found myself in the position of releasing 2 records around the same time - late February 2008. I was going over to one of the bands' place tonight to take some promo shots and I remembered this assignment is about hands and the band I was going to shoot is called The Hands! What serendipity. So at the end, I asked a band called the Hands if I could take one more shot of just their hands, as cheesy as that sounds. So without further ado...

DSC_8555

The other band is The Heavy Hearts and let's hope I don't find myself in a similar situation next week!

BTW, if you like that rock and roll music...

Gotta pimp the warez, right?

heh, without the explanation that'd look too extreme for this contest, yet now it just might be winner if admin allows it to be on the front page :]

To extrapolate: this photo demonstrates the vividness of expression of character that can be seen through a person hands, and their hands' gestures. Specifically, here we see their hands expressing their respective reactions to being photographed -- an apt subject for a photograph. Or something.

Default For you my love

Assignment: Hands

A snap of my friend celebrating her fourth Karwa chauth, a traditional hindu festival for married women. Married women fast for an entire day, for the long life of their husbands. They apply henna on their hands and dress up in their best clothing and ornaments. They break their fast on moon rise, offer prayers and receive the first bite of food and water from their husbands. The festival signifies extreme love and devotion for their husbands.

Talking ok...

This isn't very good but being new I wanted to submit something. Taken with a Canon Rebel T2 35mm with plain ol' film.
