Default "Assignment: Mixing Elements"

Air and water seen during underwater photosynthesis. The plants actually produce bubbles that then detach and float to the surface. The plant is limnophila aromatica that I have growing in one of my fish tanks.

This is my first time participating so I hope all is in order.

Default Assignment: Mixing Elements

Hi Everyone. I've been lurking out here for awhile but haven't posted yet. I have to say thanks to all the fantastic photographers out here. I've learned so much from you already!

Being the nerd that I am this assignment immediately made me think of the old kids show Captain Planet. When the elements combine (plus "heart" for that little something extra) everyone's favorite environmental crusaider, Capt. Planet, sprang into action to fight the evil polluters.

Luckily, I married a real life environmentalist who happened to have a capt planet shirt. I attempted to show the elements combining to bring out our hero. Glasses are made out of sand (earth). Water falling into the glass. Wind blowing ribbons tied to the glass. Fire (a match) in the shape of a heart.

Unfortunately I didn't have a ton of time so it's a bit rougher than I'd like but my hubby was very amused watching me throw it all together

Earth, Fire, Wind, Water, Heart

Sea and Air Texture

This was taken on the Bosphoros while passing from one side of Istanbul to the other by ferry. I like the abstract look of it. It looks like a satellite photo of snowy mountains or water marbling.
