Default Tonka Truck

truck 017 copy

As I was heading out tonight after work to go on my "weekly assignment" - I noticed our little neighbor boy out playing. I decided to go no further and snap a few of him and a Tonka truck.

Not for the contest, too old. But it's an old favorite, and I wanted to share! I do still know where this beauty is parked, though . . .

Nice! Ugh lemme say that again, Awesome! I love it, great colors. IMHO though I may have shot a couple of extra frames at different angles and a bit tighter to see if I could draw out a little more depth. Awesome!

Default Assignment: Trucks

There is an abandoned insane asylum right near my house. I decided to bike up to the once fully-functioning buildings and to my dismay I saw that construction trucks were already ripping down the trees leading to the once secluded skeletons of the buildings. I thought this photo really captured the gloomy feeling one gets when venturing up the path to the unknown.

Not eligible because I took it a week early but I thought it fit the description pretty nicely. Shot location: Pine Mountain, Georgia.

Currently my desktop background:

Hope it lives up to the requirement for "interesting" from Saralonde...

I found the text "gateway" on the toy truck a nice match for what the airport in the back tries to achieve (that's Schiphol Amsterdam Airport, if anyone is wondering). The combination led to the title "Gateway to the world":

Assignment: trucks

Date picture taken: July 24, 2009.
EXIF:
Camera: Nikon D40
Exposure: 0.1 sec (1/10)
Aperture: f/9.0
Focal Length: 80 mm
ISO Speed: 200
Exposure Bias: 0 EV
Flash: No Flash
In PP (ViewNX) I fiddled a bit with the colour settings to increase the detailing of the sky.
