Noooooo! Too late... forgot the time zone
Oh well! I guess i will just contribute to the pool.

Nikon F2- seperate

Made a ghetto light tent with the aid of DPS: DIY cheap light tent & took this shot with numerous other where you can see it at myFlickr- Classic/Retro Set.
I figured that this is very much the essences of machinery; SLR at its best. Don't get me wrong, I love my A200 but this Nikon F2 is on its own!

Two things I learned doing this assignment
1. how to make a light tent (felt like I was in primary again w/o supervision)
2. my dad was into photography too a long long time ago.

quote dad "this is a museum item now!"
Two more shot I just want to share of the same camera

This image has captured for me great colour, contrast, impact and tells a story of what was once a reliable machine.

Default Assignment: Machines

I'd hoped to get a few photo's submitted in time as in my career I am surrounded by the highest of Hi-Tech Machines for Printing. We also have a museum of some historical equipement for printing. I thouhg that some viewers might be interested in these, and naturally feedback and commentary are welcome. This first photo is of an original Linotype Machine, which revolutionized typesetting at the turn of the century. Prior to this invention, all type was set by hand - a tedious and laborious task. The type was for the first time set with a typewriter into a line of type, hence the name, "Linotype." This created a lead slugline, and to accomplish this, the machine used a melting pot of lead to for the slugline. In later years, this was assumed to pose some health risk, but was later dismissed. Linotype machines were used until well into the 80's and the inventor, Ottmar Merganthaller, a German immigrant to the USA who founded the company in Brooklyn, NY was honored by the USPS with a stamp in a series called "Pioneers in Print." Photo was tekn on July 24. Brightness and contrast slighly enhanced with Photoshop CS.

Not for the contest because it was taken back in March. My husband works in the bush and always packs his chainsaw. I'd love it if it was a weekly assignment!
