Kris, and everyone, we are currently working on setting some more specific guidelines on photo sizes, for now, please try to keep the longest side less than 600px. Not everyone is on a high speed connection, and even some of us that are notice slow load times for larger images.
Photobucket should work for linking images but it may not have the ease of resizing like Flickr does. Most photo editing software has a 'resize' feature where you can adjust the picture size, just don't make the mistake that we all do at some point in saving over your orig, always make sure to save with a new name or back up your images. Kris, are you able to view pictures that we link from Flickr at all?

I'm so fortunate that this weeks assignment is portraits - I LOVE portraits!! And it just so happened that I went on a location shoot this weekend. Amazingly my model and I were both having an "On" day so we got quite a few great shots. It was super hard to just pick four, so I didn't - here are some as large images, and some as attachments at the bottom:
Reanna, my amazing friend - she lets me drag her all over the city just for practice, its great!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() All shot with the Nikon D50, don't remember my settings - but I was shooting in manual all day, I think I'm getting the hang of it! **ALSO I have not edited these at all, no cropping - no nothing, so constructive criticism would be appreciated** Thank you!! |

Thank you very much. I've never really done any photography before, but the more and more I take pictures, the more I want to keep at it. Glad to know how you both felt about those 3 *portraits* and if there are any tips that could make it better, then be my guest.

Meant to post these awhile back...
The wife actually took this one of our daughter while I was ice skating. I just photoshopped it to my liking. ![]() This next one was taken at one of the infamous "Bridges of Madison County" in Iowa, USA. My daughter was 15 months old at the time.

smc1377,
What a gift, knowing WHEN to shoot. Filled with character, the first one seems unsaturated and I don't mind. The second seems to have too much space above yet says look how tiny I am. Next book written on How to Photograph Children, these should go under Getting the "Look". If #2 were a poster, I'd caption "What were you THINKING?"

This is one of my miracle shots - she was actually running towards me when I fired the 20D. The crop was done in post processing and was done this tight because of a number of unsavory elements outside this frame.
