*first time posting ever, hope I got this all right*
I took this the day I got my new lens. I'm a VERY beginner! I was getting frustrated trying to get a good shot of these flowers on a cactus, the sun was super bright and they were very over exposed. After almost giving up I decided to just try something extreme. I adjusted my shutter speed to 1/640 sec. And this is the result I got. I was actually pretty impressed. ![]() Camera: Canon EOS Rebel Xti f/1.8 1/640 exposure time Focal Length 50 mm ISO 400 |

![]() Camera: Nikon D80 Exposure: 1/4000 sec Aperture: f/5.6 Focal Length: 70 mm Focal Length: 71.3 mm ISO Speed: 100 Exposure Bias: 0 EV Flash: No Flash I had just finished my photography course and decided to training while taking vacations at my city, Manaus. I was adjusting the camera exposure and aperture, forgot to adjust the ISO. By the time I saw this picture at the LCD, I thought: "Oh no!".. But when I saw the image in my computer, I said: "OH MY GOD!"

![]() I was at an aquarium, trying to get an entire view of this albino alligator. The waterline distorted his body and made it look deform, but it turned out interesting. This was straight out of the camera. Exposure: 0.033 sec (1/30) Aperture: f/2.8 Focal Length: 47 mm ISO Speed: 400 Exposure Bias: 0 EV Here is the intended picture:

I'm still learning portrait photography, when I took this picture, I intended to take my cousin pic from lower angle, so I could capture his expression from other angle. But just at the time I press button, he looked down to camera. So here it is.

Seattle Overexposed
![]() Date: 09/06/03 Camera: Canon Powershot G3 Exposure: 15 sec Aperture: f/3 Focal Length: 28.8mm It may not be immediately obvious but this was taken in the dark. This was my first attempt at a night shot back in 2003. I was pleasantly surprised to get this overexposed shot that turned the night sky blue. It's got chromatic aberrations and noise up the wazoo but it's still one of my favorite mistakes.

Nikon D80
07/04/2009 ISO: 100 Focal length: 70mm Aperature: f/8.0 Shutter: 1/4 Flash did not fire. I meant to get a silhouette head-on, but he moved too quickly - exposing the sun and creating those sun spots on the photograph. I have ended up loving the spots becaues they are so unique and almost tie-dye and colorful... I know I couldn't have recreated this photo if I tried to. |
