This was taken on our Honeymoon almost a year ago. The Wife and I were sitting on the porch drinking amaretto and smoking cigars. I think that it is a great picture and it was one of the best sunsets that I have ever seen. I think that it is a mistake because I wanted us to be brighter in the photo. I refrained from using the flash because it made the white robes stand out way to much. I also should have either moved my Wife's chair or the camera so that her face could be seen as well in the picture. The people standing watching the sunset don't help the picture either (if I try I can take them out in PS though). I didn't want to ruin the moment by spending time to figure a way to light us up while not make it so we became the focal point, or moving the camera or chair. It is a moment that I will always remember. That took a little bit of explaining.
Tv 1/15 sec Av F/13 Focal Length 30mm ISO 400 Date 08/05/08 Time 2015

This one was a definite mistake. Too high ISO, no flash fired with crappy light, and the kid's mom moved.
The high-ISO part tho seemed to look better on B&W then in color, so I converted to B&W. Then I started to quite like how the child's face is kind of 'frozen' with movement in the background. ![]() The shot was made on Jan 31, 2009 using Nikon D40. I was at the Dragonboat Festival in Denver and had taken out my camera without changing any of my settings. I remember looking at the photo on my screen and realizing my mistake, extremely overexposed. I was hurrying, taking lots of pictures that day, so I kept right on shooting planning to delete it later. When I looked at it on my computer screen, I realized how unique this photo was. I love the reflection, the water line and the bright red eye- completely without photoshop (unique in my world). Since I took this photo I have been purposefully shooting hi-key photos since! Nikon D70, ISO 400, f8, 1/250.

So, when is the deadline, yesterday?
My first post and I'm screwing it up. have to anyway. I was walking the dog, heard a rustling noise next to the trail, whipped my camera up to try and take a picture of whatever was making the noise at the exact same time as my dog lunged at it, so my hand holding the leash slammed my camera into my face and I had one heck of a nose bleed, but this was on my camera when I got home.

![]() This was a blurred photo of a person that kept moving while I was trying to take their picture. I liked the squiggly lines and glowing color, so it did not get the delete button.
