I took this photo at the end of another day of trekking around the Angkor Wat complex. Our tuktuk drove past the two boys on their way home, so I literally just pointed the camera as we came past them and hoped for the best with no thought as to what settings the camera was on. I took three photos in total and pretty much deleted the other two there and then. Luckily I kept this one as it's ended up being one of my favourites. I like the way that parts of the boys are almost transparent around the edges and even though technically it's all wrong, there's something about it that I love.

Being a beginner in photography, this is definitely my territory. This photo was taken on a bright sunny afternoon after the wedding ceremony. The appointed photographer had called it a day and the bride was in such a good mood and there I was with my camera. Without changing my camera setting, I just snapped the photo only to realize later that it was overexposed. Behind the bride is a big soccer field with the sun coming from the back. I saved it using Lightroom.

![]() exposure time: 1/80" aperture: f1.8 iso: 800 focal length: 50mm white balance: manual white balance (sunny) We were out for a trip to see a volcano in the Philippines and before I took this shot, I was taking pictures of Taal Volcano. Since it was a sunny day, my white balance was set to Sunny. When we went inside a resto to eat, my niece, Azumi, just started posing in front of me. I was able to change my lens from my kit lens to my nifty 50, changed my shutter speed, aperture and ISO but wasn't able to change the white balance considering the incandescent lighting. This resulted in this picture which is saturated in yellow. But still liked the effect of the light on her aside from her very cute posing. |

Assignment: A Mistake
This one was taken on March 28, 2008. My Wife and I were snowshoeing in Grindelwald and was approched by a snow cat. It was traveling so quick, I only managed two shots of it. This was the second, and I didn't notice the ski-poles in the foreground or that the camera was not level. Shooting into the sun in the snow, I didn't think anything good would result, but I think it came out better than expected. Camera: Canon Powershot SD900 Shutter Speed/Exposure: 1/500 Sec. Aperature: F/8 Focal Length: 8mm No Flash No Software Processing |

I hope this doesn't come across in the wrong way....but it looks like #7 is a pick-pocket. Very cute and a keeper of a mistake too.

![]() I took this by accident on holiday. The sun had just gone down and I was playing with long shutter speeds and accidently got my dog, Onyx, running towards me. I've adjusted the rotation slightly as my camera wasn't straight when I took it. I took it using a Canon Powershot SX110 IS. Last edited by BumbleBee; 07-12-2009 at 01:46 PM. |

This was taken August 25, 2007 with a Canon Powershot S5. It is a mistake because it is so over exposed, but I loved the look of it. It is of my husband and dog walking in the park.

![]() OOPS!!---Oh, wait a minute....I guess tinkering with manual mode gives you a direct connection to divinely-intervened creativity! I did end up getting the settings "right" but this is the only version to make my A list. Taken: This spring while on vacation in Maryland Canon XSi w/kit lens Augmented with PSE7 |

Mistake.jpg
I took this at Faith Day at the Rookies in Aug 2008. Steven Curtis Chapman was performing (the first concert after his daughter's death) after the game. I had my Pentax *istDL and was using a 70-300mm lens to get some shots of him. I liked the view on the Jumbo Tron and zoomed in a little close on it. Ended up being able to see the individual LEDs. I like it. It has an almost negitve image to it.
