Taken at the London Bloggers's meetup, in the dimly-lit upstairs bar of a pub in central London this week - the camera was on shutter priority and (perhaps because it had been pointed at the floor) had selected 15 seconds. These are some lights hanging down the wall opposite the bar

This photo I took on our last vacation. We were at Netherland in a small village named Watergang (near Amsterdam). The weather was wonderful (not typical to the Netherlands), I was so excited, thought the guide won't less us go down and take photos of this wonderful place. So, I took this one from the bus...
Two major mistake on this photo:

"Assignment: A Mistake" 01-01-09
![]() Camera: Olympus E-510 Exposure: 0.6 Aperture: f/5.0 Focal Length: 30 mm ISO Speed: 100 Exposure Bias: 0 EV January 1st is the last day the festival of lights is open in Clemmons NC. I hadn't been since I was a kid so my husband and I decided to go. When we first got there, no one was in front or behind us so I made my husband pull over and I placed my camera settings real fast. I was inside the truck and needed to steady the camera for the slow shutter speed so I sat it on the dash. From the first time I pushed the shutter, cars started driving up, I kept getting angry and deleting them. Finally there was a break and I tried to take another photo but 3 cars came through at the end. I gave up at that point and when I got home, found that I actually really liked the photo. I don't typically like light blurs of any kind but these looked cool. Last edited by F.McIntosh; 07-09-2009 at 09:47 AM. Reason: first time, messed up insert photo |

This picture was taken during one of my first commercial shoots (commercial as in: the pictures are used to sell a product, not as in "I got paid loads of money"...). The items on sale are so-called retro scooters. I tried an artistic twist by taking a photograph of the scooters through the mirror of one of the scooters. Unfortunately what it displays at best is the fact that the mirror has a big dent in it... Not good for sales figures... I still like the outcome from that artistic point of view:

![]() Camera: Canon S3 IS ISO: 800 Exposure: 0EV @ 1/200 sec Aperture: 2.71 I was practicing macro photography with my P&S Canon, and while fiddling with the SuperMacro and Manual Focus buttons, I must have pressed the "Shortcut" button as well, which cranked the ISO to 800 I decided that I like the graininess of the image so I cropped the photo and played with the sharpness (if I remember correctly).

While on a quest to get a water crown totally in focus I produced this. Still not quite sure what my problem was, I was getting a reflection across my lens from the lights, but why I was getting the fire works look I do not know.
samhail;569081]My in-laws were visiting so I decide to take some shots of my son with his Grandfather. I forgot to lower the ISO from a previous picture and the flash did not fire because I forgot to turn it on leaving the subjects with an orange skin tone. I was upset because I thought the mistake made me miss a nice moment between grandfather and grandson, but after some photoshopping I came up with this picture. It is now hanging on my wall and for the most part I'm pretty happy with it.
This is just beautiful! What an amazing save!!! All my grandparents are passed and so is my father. What a treasure to have! |
