Assignment: Self Portrait II

I was relatively quiet on the forums last week because I was away on holiday. However, I did have some net access, which was handy not only for staying on top of things here but also so I could participate in a short term project called 7 Days. That involved taking a self portrait every day for a week, including a couple of set themes.

Here is my shot from last Thursday, gazing at a dust bunny that I found on the Cornish coast:

Gazing at a Dust Bunny

The dust bunny followed me around most of the day but seemed to have found somewhere else to live by Friday

You can see the rest of the pictures in my 7 Days set (the last seven are the most recent - there are another seven from earlier in the year as well). One thing I did for both projects was to sketch out ideas in advance; in both cases I didn't always stick to plan (the dust bunny one took advantage of an unplanned trip on an unexpectedly sunny day, as well as the bunny). That made it much easier because it gave me a starting point while I was keeping my eyes open for inspiration.

Default Assignment: Self Portraits II

my offering for the assignment. I played around with the glass filter tool for this one...a cleaver way to fix a blurred image? or just another gimmick? hmm you decide.

Default Assignment: Self Portrait II

First post, so be gentle Self portrait. This is me leaving behind my conservative/left-brain upbringing (the picture on the wall is a picture of the prep school I attended) and embarking on a more creative life. Two shots merged in Photoshop. ISO 400, 5.6, 1/20.
