The SX10 doesn't allow you to select an aperture? That is surprising. I was tempted to get one of those for my son vs a dSLR, and after looking at prices and specs decided it was still too much $$, for now. Anyhow, I really thought that one would have every setting available except for lens swaps.

These guys were all after food, but part way through, they all seemed to look at this one. I didn't quite capture it this way, I cropped it so that the one the others are all looking at ended up dead center. I had some other nice ones that day, but I must have bumped the wheel and set to f14 part way through.

Check to make sure you're shooting in manual mode and not automatic. This is the only thing I can think of that may be causing it.
