ok. there it is. so people here should be encouraged to host their images in one of these providers instead of attaching it directly to the post.

Default assignment f/16

Hetch Hetchy

was trying to get some decent landscapes at f/16 with some foreground interest while hiking - there were still nice alpine flowers around up in Yosemite. This is the "other" valley that was flooded to provide water for the bay area. There is a movement to have the dam removed to return the valley back to its natural condition although it is very attractive with the reservoir in it.

Aperture: f/16.0

Assignment: "RYB" June 17- July 1

I call this "The forgetfulness flower". Blue roses do not exist in nature, but have been created artificially. Their popular meaning relates to attaining the impossible.

La flor del olvido

There is no post-processing on this picture. It was created using the swap color feature of the camera.

Should I have a separate thread for this?
Bokeh is, in my understanding, primarily about the aesthetic effects of blurred points of light. At f/4.5 the background is just a blur. At f/16 there are some points of light so I suppose the latter could be described as better bokeh. However, neither really exploits that as part of the overall effect so I wouldn't tend to classify either under that heading. Take a look at DPS posts tagged bokeh.

BTW, we're past 8am GMT and so the contest is

CLOSED

although, as always, the assignments stays open.
