For those of you with a SLR, do you know if this is true?

And about the contest - I really could care less, but it is fun to have a challenge. I know my one win was a complete fluke. lol I just enjoy pushing myself to be creative and unique! Again, I will say this - I was just surprised by the split.

Default Great photo

I like how the water in this photograph is so crisp it looks like glass. This is one of my favorite photographs in this assignment.

Since discovering this site, I have participated in several weekly assignments. Each of the topics has made me take pictures of:

1) content I would never have considered photographing (eg, my butter churn, a doll in my curio, plants); and
2) using techniques I would never have known how to use; and
3) focusing on a theme or style completely out of my usual comfort zone. (I like taking pictures with people in them.)

F/16. RYB. It's all the same to me. I don't have F/16 so that isn't an option for this week but since I would never intentionally focus on a single color as the primary purpose of my photography, this "contest" suits me just fine.

Yes, there is a contest aspect to this and as each assignment is given, I strive to "win" the contest; however, my goal is to learn how to be a better photographer . Knowing that others like what I create is an added bonus, i.e. "winning the contest."
