BTW, on the subject of "Why f/16?" it is because many photographers regard it as a poor choice. Most lenses are sharpest a stop or two down from wide open and start to suffer from "diffraction" (an overall softness to the picture) when stopped down too far. This assignment gives the challenge of going to a setting you might not often use and seeing just what you can do with it. Wulf |

![]() This looks better on black click here. So this guy says my point and shoot camera's f/5.6 is equivalent to f/16. ![]() Anyway, if he's wrong this still falls under RYB category ![]() Camera: Canon PowerShot A710 IS Exposure: 0.025 sec (1/40) Aperture: f/5.6 (the f/16 equivalent for point and shoot cameras )Focal Length: 5.8 mm ISO Speed: 200 Exposure Bias: 0 EV Flash: Off, Did not fire --- |

I've been wanting to creatively photograph my bicycle and this assignment seem the perfect opportunity. Although I like the shallow DOF shot better, this one reminds and reinforces the lesson on making the subject of the photo unquestionable. Because of the bad time of day for outdoor photography and my only time to work on the assignment this week, I changed the color image to a mostly desaturated version, which I like better.
![]() Camera: Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi Exposure: 0.167 sec (1/6) Aperture: f/16.0 Focal Length: 28 mm ISO Speed: 100 Exposure Bias: 0 EV Flash: Off Exposure Program: Manual Date and Time (Original): 2009:06:25 12:09:52
