Assignment: "Plants, Not Flowers"
This wasnt my original planned shot for my entry but when i stopped at the site i was going to shoot at i saw this around the corner... ![]() ![]() flickr page Taken on: June 1, 2009 at 8.04pm BST Camera: Sony DSLR-A350 Exposure: 0.008 sec (1/125) Aperture: f/5.6 Focal Length: 40 mm ISO Speed: 100 Exposure Bias: 0 EV Flash: Auto, Did not fire this is a re-edit of my original entry, as it was shot in raw, for this edit, I made two dupicate versions, each 1 stop ev under and overexposed then used photoshop to merge in a kind of mock hdr effect, (I have checked with saralonde first)

I took this from the same area as the last assignment. I had a couple of hours to kill, so I walked around this rest area with my 18-200mm lens. It felt good, as always, to get out of the truck and move my body in different directions. I have a feeling this hobby may be healthy for me! Taken after an early morning shower.

Wheat- grains of gold.
![]() When I think of wheat, I picture it together with the blue sky, and tend to remember a poem by Rafael Alberti, "Se equivocó la paloma, se equivocaba. Por ir al norte fue al sur, creyó que el trigo era el agua. Creyó que el mar era el cielo..." (something like "the pidgeon was mistaken, the pidgeon was wrong, wanting to fly north, it flew south; it thought wheat was water, thought the sea was the sky." I wanted to show the colors of the wheat, the sea and the sky. In Spain, Wheat is getting golden now. I love those endless golden fields. The sky was not at its best, so I used the color of the swimming pool, which had just been painted, ready for the coming summer. This vibrant tuquoise joins both water and sky. No post process, sooc.
