Abandoned Grave - Steins, New Mexico



I traveled from El Paso, TX to Steins, New Mexico- about a 3 hour trip to take some photos specifically for this assignment. While I had 3 favorites, this was the one that I selected after receiving a unanimous approval from friends and family, and of course myself.

Steins is a Ghost Town, one of many in the Western United States. It has structures such as homes, school, blacksmith, tanning shop, and even a brothel with items and belongings still intact; the people left everything behind. The townsfolk abandoned the town in the 1950's because water was scarce and difficult to get as well as the lack of jobs. This town is very close to where Geronimo is buried.

The Ghost Town really makes you feel just how abandoned the townsfolk left it.
