It's so cool to see how objects react to the elements around! I used a simple standing lamp and a white cardboard box as reflector... wanna see my fancy set?

Default ***Assignment: "Ghetto Lighting + Reflector"

I'm not sure I have the concept down but while trying to come up with something I wanted to shoot for this assignment, I noticed the light that my computer cast on my baby girl's face next to me. The room around us was completely dark. The reflection and light comes from a white sheet behind her, and I built a "bridge" over her with a cardboard/tan colored sewing board resting on the computer and the pillow so that it was above her. I thought it might diffuse some of the harshness of the light off the computer. I had to manual focus which was not easy in the dark. But, this is what I got.

Assignment: Ghetto Lighting + Reflector

Since I am very new to photography ~ this assignment was easy as everything I own and use is DIY
This is a photo of my daughter playing dress up fashion model. The discoloring around her eyes is her own make up job and also a black and blue eye she got on her scooter. I left all of it in the photo for the full effect.

Lighting ~ overhead ceiling fan light along with 2 desktop lamps pointed at 2 white poster boards. Also added some alluminum foil for good measure to the poster board. The tablecloth has a shiny reflective quality as well.
Camera: Canon GS10
Exposure: 0.05 sec (1/20)
Aperture: f/3.5
Focal Length: 15.7 mm
ISO Speed: 400
Exposure Bias: +2 EV
Flash: Off
Date and Time: May 21,2009 5pm
