An excellent suggestion. I think we will have a lot of architectural shots and peeling paint in the weathered assignment so it will be good to mix it up with something like this.

BTW, with all that hot weather, I guess cjbnc could grow sun-dried tomatoes on the vine...

Default Results?

Just curious.
Where are and when the results are posted for Mini Contests?
I don't see results for latest assignments in 'The Complete List of Assignments' link:

They get shown on the DPS blog every weekend. I think there was some discussion about also putting them in the first post of each assignment but I am not sure that has been applied yet (certainly not on this one).

Look at each part of your picture and think about whether it adds or detracts from the whole. For example, I think the light area in the top of your picture detracts; I would rather see it closer in making more of the apples as the subject and just contrasting with the green of the further tree.

Hi Mindy! This site was pointed out to us here on DPS a couple of days back by Clockdoc. I think you may find it interesting. I see that she will be putting up a tutorial on Still Life in the future, so you may want to keep an eye on it. The latest lesson is on the rule of thirds which may or may not interest you but it's worth a look.

How do you come up with these creative ideas???! Not only is this shot 'thinking outside the box' (and a good job at that), but it is technically excellent with beautiful warm light, dramatic shadows, and off-centered subject. Thanks for sharing your work, jiminy, and thanks for inspiring me to be more creative!
