Default Abstract Flowers on the wall

These were just some old fake flowers on the wall. As I do not have a macro lens, I set my camera on aperture priority and used the 14-45mm lens with the aperture set on 3.5, the largest setting I have. Then I played around with the colors a little.

Still Life - Wine with Flowers

Sunday Wine

I took this shot right before Christmas as one of the first with my new nifty-fifty lens, and to celebrate the very first bottle of wine I've been able to purchase on a Sunday in my home town. Goodbye blue laws!

This is my very first attempt at still life. This photo is of me, that i took of myself. so it was rather tricky.. especially since i dont have a shutter release... just a timer...but i think it turned out not too bad in the end. Its my first still life attempt, so comments are welcome

steevdavis62,

Light source? Is this how you hoped it would look? Thinking, if you wanted an introspective -wait a minute, I just tuned in to what I'm seeing: the neck being that light is throwing my eye off. Like, if it was Dark shirt-Medium neck-Light face, it would be OK. Easy fix, if light source is window. Or have someone look thru your viewfinder. Or edit.

Shoot on.

Here's my attempt...
(don't worry it's a plastic replica)
smith & wesson

Here's another one...
old SLR

I need to add more light to eliminate most of the shadows. But the light tent worked out better than I expected.
