No focal point, breaks the rule of thirds.

Assignment: Breaking Rules

Hi all this is my first post and I am a big time newbie to DPS and photography. This really wasn't what I intended to happen when I took this pic. I don't have a lot of manual control on my camera. I think my depth of field was off??? At least I hope thats what it is so I don't sound like a total idiot

Default Breaking the Rules

This one doesn't abide by the Rule of 3rds... everything was as close to centred as I could get.

Is that how you spell it ? I knew it didn't look right, but wasn't sure. Maybe, to many Bong hits in my younger days.

You're right, it's spelled tie-dye.

No focal point. Breaking the rules is just too much fun...

Assignment: Breaking Rules

grave

Broke the rule of thirds, and the exposure's a little dodgy, too.
I spent some time in a cemetery awhile back, looking for my grandparents' graves (buried twenty years ago, haven't been back since). A lot of searching was required, but I couldn't get a picture to represent that experience, since their headstones were the style that lie flat on the ground. So I returned to another cemetery and tried to get the feeling of looking for a particular headstone - the idea that the one I was looking for just popped out, a few rows over. So the foreground's completely out of focus, etc....in any case, that's what I was trying to do....

Assignment, breaking rules:

Okay, it was sggested that I submit this pic.. it has excessive 'dead' space and an alien light tween the verts... however, having seen an edit without the light, I think it certainly adds to the composition... Tell me whatcha think...

Regards... W
