Was riding in a van of 10 people on the way to the Blackfeet Indian Reservation in Montana... This pic was taken from the front passenger seat through an obviously dirty windshield, and the camera decided to focus on the bug guts... I like the background tho.

I broke the rule of thirds, I believe. I so wanted to capture the full wing and colors, I got excited and just snapped before I focused well.

I like it...

I really like your photo. If it was a mistake, that sure was a "sweet" one!
Nice!
I'll have to go out and find something to shoot.

Default Assignment: breaking the rules

Haarlem NL 2007-08

This is the view from a street level restaurant in the Netherlands. The restaurant is across the street from a very busy bus depot. Everyone rides a bicycle here, and I took a series of pictures with the focus set on the buses hoping to get a picture that conveyed how fast everyone rides here.

Here's my photo, definitely breaking the rule of thirds. It's also over-exposed in quite a few areas. Still, I think that the breakage really adds to the atmosphere.

Oosterboekelweg

I grew up on this street, lived there for 18 years.

The scene is lit by just the headlamps of our Renault Twingo.

When you are there, at either around 8:40ish or 17:00ish, look out for me, since I walk there four days a week ;-)

I took these some days back after reading the post about the effect achived by zooming in or out during exposure.
I was trying to get the zooming in effect of the lens but realized that my camera won't allow me to do that. The lens gets locked on half press of shutter. So I started moving the camera towards the flowers....what rule was I going to keep in doing that!!!
These two I thaught turned out OK.
