This photo breaks the rule of thirds , it has a distracting background ,there is no eye contact, but I like it and think it works because of the strong presance of the subject .

![]() I took this shot yesterday and not really thinking of the contest but when I was doing some PP I thought this works. Rules Broken: All kinds, Thirds, level camera, busy (hard to focus on main subject), sky is blown out, etc

"ASSIGNMENT: Breaking Rules"
Snapped this during a rain storm while driving through Vermont during Labor Day weekend. The highway patrol was out in full force pulling people over for speeding. Here I broke a few rules, lots of dead space, the focus is on the raindrops on the windshield instead of the police car, etc.

craigb, welcome
That's a pretty cool shot there. Wouldn't even have known it was police lights.
