On the front page of the website, not the forums... http://digital-photography-school.com/ ... there are three differently coloured columns. In the first one, every Saturday arvo, there is an 'article' posted which reads "This week in the DPS forums". The results are posted there.

Could I perhaps suggest, mods, and I know it's more work, but since this is a continual problem with people not knowing, when you post said blog on the front page, you post a link in large bright colours to the end of the assignment which it relates to?

How about everybody subscribing to the daily/weekly update e-mailings. That way you'll never miss a thing! There is also Twitter. I'm not cool enough for that though. I don't plan on Tweeting any time soon!
