This one was taken on the banks of lake Michigan in Milwaukee, WI. The part the bird is sitting is the frozen part of the lake

Thanks! The snow was particularly spongy that day because it was quite warm out. Those are my hand impressions - it's an optical illusion that makes them seem convex.

I've been cold all winter! I'm sure that nobody North of the Mason-Dixon line has any sympathy for us in the Atlanta area (13 degrees this morning-mid sixties by Sun), but I can't wait till Spring, when the verbena blooms again.
